Illegal Parking in Kembangan Controlled

As many as 30 joint personnel controlled illegal parking at CNI Kembangan areas namely on Jalan Puri Indah Raya, Puri Harum, and Jalan Puri Ayu up to Jalan Puri Wangi of Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, West Jakarta. As a result, 158 two-wheeled vehicles and four illegal parking attendants were controlled.

Head Section of Operation for West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, Agus Prasetyo said the activity involved Transportation Agency, Satpol PP, police and army.

According to him, the operation led by the Head of the West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, Susilo Dewanto, was a follow-up to residents' complaints regarding areas prone to illegal parking.

"We took action against a total of 158 two-wheeled vehicles, with the details being that 150 were sanctioned by having their valves removed (OCP) and eight we confiscated," he said, Monday (6/8).

Agus added that the officers also controlled four illegal parking attendants.

Agus stated that his team will continue to enforce illegal parking regulations in West Jakarta. He confirmed that officers will conduct regular mobile monitoring to ensure that no other locations are being used as illegal parking.

Head of West Jakarta Satpol PP, Herry Purnama said legally, illegal parking activities violate Regional Regulation No. 8 of 2007 about public order. Therefore, his party confirmed its readiness to support and ensure the success of the enforcement efforts.

"Illegal parking on the sidewalk takes away the rights and disturbs the comfort of pedestrians, as well as disrupts traffic," he said.
